Joy was working at a spa in Battle Creek in 2017 when a client came to her with a unique reason for seeing a massage therapist.
The man had recently suffered a stroke and couldn’t lift his right arm because of the pain. His daughter was getting married soon, and the man wanted to dance with her at her wedding. By the end of their session, the man held his right hand in the air and began to cry. Joy joined him. “That’s what I’m supposed to be doing – touching lives". Joy got her degree at Everest College in Kalamazoo in 2009. She spent the next decade working at different massage practices and chiropractic offices in southwest Michigan. She and her husband have just recently opened their own business right here in downtown Battle Creek - JQ Massage and Wellness. |
